What is MECOMIN-S 1500MCG?

  •  MECOMIN-S 1500MCG contains Mecobalamin,
  • Methylcobalamin is a cobalamin, a form of vitamin B₁₂,
  • Methylcobalamin (mecobalamin, MeCbl, or MeB12) is a cobalamin, a form of vitamin B12. It differs from cyanocobalamin in that the cyano group at the cobalt is replaced with a methyl group. Methylcobalamin features an octahedral cobalt(III) centre and can be obtained as bright red crystals.

What  MECOMIN-S 1500MCG is used for?

  • It is used for the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is very important for the brain and nerves and for the production of red blood cells.

Talk to your doctor before taking MECOMIN-S, if you:

  • are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients MECOMIN-S
  • are suffering from vitamin B12 deficiency
  • have any other chronic or acute medical conditio
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking MECOMIN-S

Methylcobalamin Intracts with these drugs ,

  • arsenic trioxide.
  • chloramphenicol.
  • cimetidine.
  • dexlansoprazole.
  • esomeprazole.
  • famotidine.
  • lansoprazole.
  • nizatidine.

 

  • Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor may change your dose if needed
  • It can be taken with or without food
  • For the best bioavailability and absorption, the recommended dose is 500 mcg three times daily or 1500 mcg daily of methylcobalamin

Common side effects are,

  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • loss of appetite
  • headache
  • Methylcobalamin (MeCbl), the activated form of vitamin B12, has been used to treat some nutritional diseases and other diseases in clinic,
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
