What is SILOSIN 4MG?

  • SILOSIN 4MG contains Silodosin which belongs to alpha1A-adrenoreceptor blockers

What SILOSIN 4MG is used for?

  • SILOSIN is used in adult men to treat the urinary symptoms associated with benign enlargement of the prostate (prostatic hyperplasia)

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are undergoing eye surgery cataract surgery
  • have low blood pressure
  • have severe liver or kidney problems
  • have a benign enlargement of the prostate

NA

  • Do not give this medicine to children and adolescents below 18 years
  • Do not drive or operate machines if you feel faint, dizzy and drowsy or have blurred vision

Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines such as:

  • other alpha1-blockers, prazosin or doxazosin
  • ketoconazole or itraconazole medicine used to treat fungal infections
  • ritonavir medicine used to treat viral infection
  • sildenafil or tadalafil, medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction
  • rifampicin, medicine to treat tuberculosis
  • Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • The recommended dose is 8 mg per day by oral administration
  • Take this medicine always with food, preferably at the same time every day

If you take more SILOSIN

  • If you have taken more than you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. If you become dizzy or feel weak, tell your doctor straight away

If you forget to take

  • You may take your capsule later the same day if you have forgotten to take it earlier. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the dose you missed
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten medicine

If you stop taking SILOSIN

  • If you stop treatment, your symptoms may re-appear
  • swelling of the face or throat
  • difficulty in breathing
  • feeling faint
  • itchy skin or hives
  • dizziness, including dizziness when standing up
  • runny or blocked nose
  • diarrhoea
  • abnormal ejaculation (decrease in the amount of semen released during sex) that may temporarily affect male fertility

  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
